Rating: 3 of 5 stars

Written in a series of emails and text messages between two love interests - Elliot and Madeline and their respective best friends - David and Emily, the voyeuristic reader of this light romantic comedy will enjoy peeking and eavesdropping into the lives and intimate conversations of these four young adults who are figuring out the most successful path to romance.

I read this book in just one day. It's a quick read and was much needed after my previous read, which was heavier in content. Read Bottom Up is written in a unique way by co-authors, Neel Shah and Skye Chatham. Because electronic communication is so pervasive in our lives, this book made sense and was realistic albeit fictional. It gives the reader insight into both the male and female thought processes when each decides to delve into the rollercoaster we call dating. At some points, it's a little immature and formulaic, but that's representative of real life. Having said that, I found the ending to be unexpected and clever. This book is probably not going to win any literary awards, but it's a fun read for someone looking to escape from reality for a few hours and see how the other half thinks.

Recommendation: I think this is the perfect book for a single person in their 20s who is in the midst of dating or starting a new relationship.

Until next time ... Read on!
